Quoting Notre Dame defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta, article on coach's wives: "You have to have a very solid wife," Notre Dame assistant head coach Jon Tenuta said. "My wife does a great job with my kids (three sons). My kids enjoy a new adventure, but you'd like for your (children) to have the opportunity to go to the same high school (for four years)." Tenuta has had stops at Virginia, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Marshall, Kansas State, Southern Methodist, Oklahoma, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and now Notre Dame over his 28 years in the business. I've had numerous opportunities every year to go places, but for my oldest son I wanted him to enjoy the school that he played at," Tenuta said of why he stayed at Georgia Tech from 2002 through 2007. Link...

Quoting Miami defensive coordinator John Lovett: "This business that we're in, there's a lot of turnover," Lovett said. "The longest I've ever been at a job is four years. ... The expectations at all these places are very high, and that's why you want to coach at a place like this."

Quoting Gene Chizik: "I would really like to see a team that has no stupid penalties, things that get you beat for no reason," he said. "I'd like to see a football team that operationally runs very smooth. That's communication, that's formations, calls from the sidelines, communication between the coaches. I would really love to see a smooth operation and us get out of that scrimmage without getting anyone else dinged up. That's probably the top three."

Harbaugh gets $50-70,000 private bathroom: This summer, Stanford mega-donor John Arrillaga built a private luxury bathroom and shower. The bathroom might look good from the inside, but it looks awful from the outside. The Stanford athletic department is facing a multimillion-dollar revenue shortfall. Fund-raising has cratered. Team budgets are being sliced. More than 20 jobs have been eliminated this year through layoffs and buyouts, and at least one sport (fencing) is in danger of being cut. So by all means, build the football coach a private bathroom. "It was something I'd asked for," Harbaugh said. "It cuts down on drag." Link...
