Arizona head coach Mike Stoops post-game locker room speech after win over Oregon State:Video...

Quoting Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham: "We have a saying here that third down's the only down, and that applies to both offense and defense," Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said Tuesday on the MWC's weekly coaches teleconference. "The reason being, obviously, is if you win third down on offense, obviously you keep possession of the football and your drive stays alive, and conversely on defense if you're able to get a stop, then you're getting the ball back to your offense, so that's something that we put a huge emphasis on."

Interesting quote Purdue head coach Danny Hope: "We're very close to being one of the great success stories in college football," said Hope, a Gainesville, Fla., native still carrying a heavy Southern accent. "We're some turnovers away. You can take the other plays and leave them like they are. ... We're not far off from having an awfully good record."

Interesting quote from Army head coach Rich Ellerson after 17-16 loss to Tulane: "The good news is that nobody died. We were a free country, and we are still a free country, and we get a chance to play on Saturday. We get a chance to get some people together we really care about, and we get a chance to do something that's hard and uphill. We are an underdog (to Vanderbilt) and we love it. If we can just clear, take the lesson forward, and grasp this opportunity, we can put one on somebody. It's going to be hard, but that's ok."
