5 teams have allowed less than 10 yards of punt returns this entire season:
FAU: -8 yards
Oklahoma: -5 yards
Florida: 0 yards
Mizzouri: 7 yards
Iowa State: 9 yards
26 teams have allowed a kick-off return for a TD: Tennessee, Alabama, and ULM have each allowed 2 TD's this season.
Lane Kiffin and Coach O: Lane Kiffin and Coach Orgeron watched 2 games Friday night in the state of Georgia. Kiffin and Coach O flew by helicopter from one game to another. Kiffin wore a jacket with a logo of "NFL VOLS". According to JC Shurburtt, Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin and staff continue to find new and creative ways to make a splash in recruiting.
Kiffin and Vols recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron arrived to scout Friday night's battle between Stephenson (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and Martin Luther King (Lithonia, Ga.) at James R. Hallford Stadium in a helicopter.
Kiffin and Orgeron stayed until shortly before the second half began, then took off in their chopper, which was parked on an adjacent baseball field. They then circled the stadium once and flew into the night, possibly to check on a few more area prospects. Orgeron is one of Tennessee's Atlanta-area recruiters.
Quoting Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads after win over Baylor: "I don't know if, in seven games in a season, I've been around a team that continues to prepare like ours does. To do that and suffer the defeats the last 2 weeks (Kansas and Kansas State) and continue to show up is truly hats off to the men we have in this locker room."
ULM turnaround: ULM head coach Charlie Weatherbie 4-2 overall and 3-0 in conference: New defensive coordinator Troy Reffett (former New Mexico DC) has helped ULM tremendously. ULM is 4-2 (3-0 in Sun Belt) and playing better in all three phases on the game. Here's a look at some interesting defensive statistics:
2008 ULM rush defense: 109th nationally (212 yards per game)
2009 ULM rush defense: 12th nationally (93 yards per game)
2008 ULM total defense: 109th nationally (444 yards per game)
2009 ULM total defense: 60th nationally (355 yards per game)
Beckman leading Toledo in 1st season as head coach: Toledo is 4-3 under new head coach Tim Beckman (defeated by Purdue, Ohio State, Western Michigan). While playing with a backup quarterback, Beckman led his team to a win over Northern Illinois 20-19 this past Saturday. Toledo is 10th in the nation in total offense (458 yards per game). It seems like Matt Campbell (OC / OL) and Scott Satterfield (QB / pass game coordinator) are doing well in their 1st season at Toledo. Satterfield is the former play-caller at Appalachian State.
Props to Dan Hawkins, Al Groh, Robb Akey: For all the negative media these coaches have dealt with, it's great to see Dan Hawkins and Al Groh lead their teams to big wins on Saturday. Congrats to Idaho head coach Robb Akey and his staff. The Vandals are now 6-1 and bowl eligible after defeating Hawaii on Saturday.

Quoting Tennessee assistant Lance Thompson: "I could have stayed with Nick (Saban) forever."
