2011 Running Backs Coach of the Year The FootballScoop Coaches of the Year awards presented by SpeedTracs are the only set of awards that recognize the most outstanding position coaches in college football. Finalists were selected based off of nominations by coaches, athletic directors, and athletic department personnel. A panel of coaches, including previous recipients, will determine the the 2011 winner. Votes tallied on this page are considered; however our panel will make the final decision. Voting for this award ends on Wednesday December 7th. Previous winners of the Running Backs Coach of the Year award are Burton Burns (Alabama, 2008), Willie Taggart (Stanford, 2009) and Jim Mastro (Nevada, 2010).

It's a pleasure to watch Burton Burns teach his players on the field and off. There is a reason that so many great running backs go to Alabama, and his name is Burton Burns.

Thomas Hammock - Wisconsin
Thomas Hammock is in his first season at Wisconsin after having spent the last four seasons at Minnesota. Hammock stepped into a good situation at Wisconsin and turned it into a great one. The further development of Montee Ball throughout this season is one of the great stories of the season.

Frank Wilson - LSU
When most coaches think of Frank Wilson, they immediately think "great recruiter". But this season has shown, Wilson can coach'em up on the field as well. In vetting the nominees for this list, we spoke with a number of SEC defensive coaches. To a man, each said that Frank Wilson's group of backs were exceptionally well coached.
