Update on Michigan's defensive backs opening (Michigan)

Yesterday, word began to circulate that Michigan was expected to add Houston Texans safeties coach Stephen Adegoke as their new defensive backs coach.

Sources close to the situation share with FootballScoop that while Adegoke is the top target for the position, and has been offered the job, no final decision has been made at this time.

We're told Adegoke is currently weighing a few different options while continuing his job with the Texans and expects to make a decision on his future in the next 24 hours.

Accepting the job with the Wolverines would mean a return for Adegoke, who previously served as a defensive graduate assistant at Michigan working with the defensive backs. He went on to work with the DeMeco Ryans with the 49ers before following him to the Texans where he was elevated to an on-field role coaching the safeties.

He would be a key piece in Michigan's defensive rebuild in Ann Arbor, as Sherrone Moore rebuilds the defensive staff around new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale after the Wolverines defensive staff left for various NFL positions following their national title run.
