Warren Sapp finally confirms when he'll join Colorado coaching staff (deion sanders)

Deion Sanders announced back in November that Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp will join the Colorado staff this coming season, and now we finally have a date for when that will happen. Or, a month at least.

Sapp joined the DNVR Sports podcast at Radio Row in Las Vegas to reveal he'll officially become a Buffalo next month.

"March is when I'm coming. That's when I was told," Sapp told the podcast.

"Stamp it," a host said.

"That's what Prime said. If Prime tells me I'm coming in March, then stamp it, right? So I'm stamping it. My bags are packed, I'm ready to go," Sapp said.

Sapp will be the only person in the CU football offices who can go trophy-for-trophy with the head coach.

As a Miami Hurricane, Sapp won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation's top defensive player out of his defensive tackle spot, along with the Lombardi Trophy and the Big East Defensive Player of the Year award. As the 12th pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sapp earned a spot on six All-Pro Teams, played in seven Pro Bowls, was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1999, won a Super Bowl, and was chosen as a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team in the 1990s and the 2000s.

Sapp entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first-ballot selection in 2013, and will join Coach Prime in the College Football Hall of Fame at some point in the future.

"I'm excited about Coach Sapp," Sanders said back in November. "He's a dear friend that I love to life, and he's going to be invaluable as to what he brings to the table.

"The kids are going to love him; as far as the recruits, they are going to love him."

Sapp's role on the staff is not specified, but it's expected he'll be an analyst working with the defensive line. Sal Sunseri remains on staff as defensive tackles coach, and Vincent Darcy was promoted to defensive ends coach following Nick Williams's departure for Syracuse.

Rob Livingston was hired earlier this week as defensive coordinator.

Sapp previously served as a consultant for the Washington Commanders. He retired from the NFL in 2007.
