Nate Meyer, son of Urban, is walking on Cincinnati's football team with an eye on getting in the family business.
Nate, the youngest of Urban and Shelley's three children, enrolled at Cincinnati out of high school as an outfielder for the Bearcats' baseball team.
"He loved football and became enamored with it in high school, went to a very good program and had a very good experience," Urban Meyer told ESPN. "As a young kid, he wasn't really interested in football at all. My daughters were more into the football scene than he was, but then he really got enamored with it. He started training with the team, and that's when he fell in love with the locker room, the people, the intensity, the weight training."
The younger Meyer has even switched his major from business to psychology, meaning he'll take the same courses at the same school as his soon-to-be Hall of Fame father.
โI thought, โOh boy,'" Urban told Yahooupon hearing the news.
An all-district wideout at Bishop Watterson High School in suburban Columbus, Nate will have two years of eligibility before pursuing coaching full-time upon graduation.
Nate is the second member of the Meyer family in the profession. Urban's son-in-law Corey Dennis, husband of the former Nicki Meyer, is Ohio State's quarterbacks coach.
