Sources tell FootballScoop that Wisconsin-Whitewater is set to replace another coordinator after a 6-4 season.
Marcus McLin, the Warhawks defensive coordinator, has accepted an assistant coaching job at FCS power South Dakota State, sources tell FootballScoop.
We understand he will work with the corners at SDSU.
In addition to calling the defense, McLin held the associate head coach title and worked with the defensive backs at UW-Whitewater.
A decorated Warhawks alumnus, McLin previously called the defensive at Division II Bemidji State (D-II - MN) before joining his former school.
The former two-time All American at defensive back spent one season at Whitewater coaching the team's receivers, mentoring two All Conference receivers during a 13-1 season and run to the national semis in 2021.
As a player, he was part of three national title teams and was a team captain as a senior for the Warhawks.
He joins the staff of Dan Jackson at South Dakota State, who was recently tabbed to replace newly-minted Wazzu head coach Jimmy Rogers.
At the end of the season Whitewater parted ways with offensive coordinator Nick Pesik and offensive line coach Timothy Shields, so head coach Jace Rindahl will now be tasked with replacing both coordinators heading into his third season leading the program.
