Taylor Housewright, whose third season last fall at the helm of Montana State's offense saw the program post Football Championship Subdivision's No. 2 scoring offense at 39.9 points per game, has returned to coaching at the FBS level, FootballScoop has learned.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Housewright has been tabbed as an offensive analyst on Clay Helton's Georgia Southern staff.
The addition of Housewright is another strong move for Helton, who earlier this offseason also snagged former Marshall offensive coordinator Clint Trickett to serve as Georgia Southern's tight ends coach and passing game coordinator.
Housewright, with previous Power Conference experience at both Mississippi State and Oregon with Joe Moorhead, helped the Bobcats win 32 games, finish as national runners-up in the 2021 FCS Championship, reach the semifinals the ensuing year and the second round last season.
Georgia Southern, entering its third season with Helton, the former USC head coach, at the helm, opens its 2024 campaign with a compelling intersectional tilt against Boise State Aug. 31 at home.
The Eagles have posted consecutive 6-7 records in Helton's first two seasons atop the program.
