Eric Koehler has tutored some of the top quarterbacks in Miami Redhawks football history, including former pupil Gus Ragland who recently got his own college job.
Now Koelher is making a leap to Power 5 football after nine strong seasons helping orchestrate the Miami offense.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Koehler, who also tutored standout Miami signal-callers Andrew Hendrix and Brett Gabbert, is accepting a role on P.J. Fleck's Minnesota Golden Golphers' staff as a senior offensive analyst.
In addition to his nine-year run at Miami, Koehler also has experience at Illinois State, Grand Valley State and Wartburg College.
Minnesota has found sustained national relevance under Fleck, who rose to notoriety for his work atop the Western Michigan football program.
In six seasons at the helm of the Golden Gophers, Fleck has won 44 games -- and posted an impressive 4-0 mark in bowl games.
Minnesota wrapped up its nine-win 2022 season with a win in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Fleck's seventh Minnesota squad is scheduled to open its coming campaign at home in a made-for-TV, Thursday-night game against Big Ten foe Nebraska in the debut of new Cornhuskers' coach Matt Rhule.
