Ed Orgeron was hired at LSU to do two things: develop defensive linemen and be a heat-seeking recruiting missile with eyes on the best players in the country.
"I look forward to be able to coach these young men, to develop them into the great defensive lines that we're used to seeing at LSU and also going out and recruiting the great state of Louisiana," he said upon his hiring last week. "I can't wait to go out tomorrow and recruit with that big LSU on my chest."
Orgeron loves recruiting, and that love extends even to his voice mail. ESPN Baton Rouge (which, full disclosure, hosts FootballScoop Radio every Sunday night) morning show Culotta and the Prince called Orgeron on a whim yesterday. He didn't answer, but they discovered Coach O's voice mail is exactly what you'd expect it to be.
