The "best way to recruit," according to Dan Mullen (Florida)

What Dan Mullen was able to accomplish in Starkville over the course of nine seasons is nothing short of incredible. An overall record of 69-46, including three 9-plus win seasons and eight straight bowl appearances while competitng in SEC West is impressive.

Mullen and his staff were able to do that be recruiting their type of players and selling them on the vision of the program.

Now as the head coach at Florida, Mullen shares what he believes is the best approach to recruiting a player (via @OnlyGators).

As a player coming out of high school, as well as a coach at the small college level, I remember hearing, and using, a similar version of this to get prospects on campus. You can watch all the hype videos and read all social media posts you want, but the only way to truly get that feeling in you gut that you belong somewhere is to get on campus.

Visiting during practices to see how guys coach is a nice touch, and of course getting on campus for a game day to really soak things in is a must everywhere, and especially when you have an atmosphere like The Swamp.
