Bruce Arians has carved out a one-of-a-kind role for a 40-year NFL coaching veteran in Tampa Bay (Tom Moore)

Fans of football will recognize the name Tom Moore from his over four decades of coaching experience in the NFL, starting with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 1997. His career went on to include stops with the Vikings, Lions, Saints, Jets, Titans and Cardinals in capacities ranging from an offensive assistant to coordinator, and as a consultant late in his career.

Moore was perhaps most well known for his run as the offensive coordinator for the Colts fro 1998-2008, where he helped to build one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history with Peyton Manning and a wealth of other offensive weapons at his disposal.

In short, Moore has been an NFL staple for decades, and one of the most well respected assistants to ever coach in the league. To turn back the clock even more, Moore got his coaching career started back in 1961 as a graduate assistant at Iowa.

Most recently, Moore spent five seasons on staff with Bruce Arians with the Cardinals (2013-17) as an assistant head coach and offensive consultant.

Arians has recently brought the 80-year old Moore back, at least through the Bucs training camp, as an advisor of sorts.

Exactly what Arians will be leaning on Moore's experience for? Well, beyond the normal advice that a head coach would seek from a veteran advisor / consultant, Greg Auman had the following to share on the specifics:

Really? "Every coach needs a 'bitch to' coach he can complain to"? Can't say I've heard that one before...
