If you thought all your angry tweets and grumbled complaints were going to stop Jim Harbaugh from being Jim Harbaugh, you thought wrong. In fact, all your hate only makes his Harbaugh-ness even more Harbaugh.
After spending spring break at IMG Academy in 2016, Michigan will be back in the Tampa area later this month to face South Carolina in the Jan. 1 Outback Bowl. And since the Wolverines have to be in Tampa, they might as well practice at the high school of a 5-star offensive tackle.
As first reported by The Wolverine Lounge, and since confirmed by a source to FootballScoop, Michigan will spend its Outback Bowl practices at Berkeley Prep in Tampa, which happens to be the high school of Nicholas Petit-Frere, the nation's No. 3 offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Industry experts view Florida as the leader for Petit-Frere's services, followed by Notre Dame and Alabama. Michigan also won't be allowed to recruit Petit-Frere while on campus -- the trip will occur during a dead period -- and it's fair to question how much time the player will spend on his high school campus during the last week of December, but Michigan has to practice somewhere while in Tampa, so why not make the most out of it?
