Middle Tennessee is planning some significant athletic upgrades, and among them are some new plans for the football program.
The plan the the school unveiled includes a creation of a new entry plaza and athletic district that appears to feed nicely into the football stadium.
The first phase of the plan is a new football operations facility located in that entry plaza along the north end of Floyd Stadium that will include a new locker room, offices, and equipment room. According to The Daily News Journal, the report from the school says that the new football facility will serve as "the anchor to the district sitting between Floyd Stadium, Kennon Sports Hall of Fame, Murphy Center and the football practice field.โ
MTSU is still pretty early on in the process, and a more official announcement is expected at a later date, but athletic director Chris Massaro told The DNJ that the new facility "could be a game changer for us."
Here's a look at the video, via The DNJ, that was shown during a recent committee meeting highlighting the proposed changes.
