Salary figures for Dan Mullen's Florida staff are out (Featured)

Florida will pay Dan Mullen's staff slightly more than it paid Jim McElwain's.

The Gators will pay Mullen's 10 assistants a collective $4.725 million in 2018, according to data provided Tuesday by Only Gators. Florida paid McElwain's staff $4.375 million, a difference of $350,000 (or eight percent). The change is consistent when considering Florida is now paying an extra assistant coach, as permitted by NCAA rules.

Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will be the highest-paid assistant -- and the highest-paid assistant in Florida history -- at $1.39 million. He is followed by three assistants tied at $565,000 in co-offensive coordinators Billy Gonzales and John Hevesey and defensive line coach Sal Sunseri. Two more assistants will make more than $400,000.

Mullen himself will make significantly more in his first season than McElwain earned made in his third. Mullen's salary is $6.1 million, a 35 percent increase from McElwain's $4.5 million salary.

Mullen's 9-man Mississippi State staff earned $3.195 million in 2017 while Mullen himself made $4.5 million.
