Yesterday, word broke that the Raiders were targeting Jon Gruden to be their next head coach should they choose to move on from Jack Del Rio, and they were willing to sweeten the pot with a part-ownership deal.
Well, earlier tonight, the Raiders announced that they decided to let Del Rio go after a 25-23 three-year run and moments ago, Adam Schefter dropped a Gruden bomb on SportsCenter.
"It's simple. You don't make that move with Jack Del Rio unless you know you're going to get Jon Gruden. Jon Gruden is going to be the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders, the only question is when it happens."
