South Carolina announces improvements to Williams-Brice Stadium (South Carolina)

South Carolina is putting everything it has to its $50 million indoor facility, but the Gamecocks aren't stopping there. When your closest neighbors are Clemson and Georgia, you don't really have a choice.

On Wednesday, South Carolina's Board of Trustees approved a $21 million renovation to Williams Brice Stadium that will offer new-and-improved seating options for fans while improving the stadium's recruiting functionality.

"I really like what Coach Tanner has done with developing this plan," Will Muschamp said in a statement. "We've said all along that, with the amazing impact the Long Center will have on our program, we had a chance to improve our recruiting experience inside Williams-Brice Stadium, while doing something impactful for our fans. This club concept and the enhancements to the Crews Building are going to leave Gamecock Football in a really good place on game days for years to come."

The project includes:

  • 38 new loge boxes and an observation deck
  • The 2001 Club: A new, ground-level club space that will allow a VIP viewing of the Gamecocks' field entrance
  • 12,000 square feet of air conditioned club space for fans seated at the 100 level
  • Similar air conditioned club space for 400 level patrons
  • Renovated areas for fans sitting along the South Tower

The targeted completion date for the project is the 2020 football season.
