Tony Romo is already an awesome color commentator (NFL)

We as viewers want to know what's happening on the field, and why. This is why networks hire former players and coaches to work as color analysts. Who better to know why players and coaches do and think the things they do than actual players and coaches?

We don't need to know that the quarterback saw the wide receiver was double covered so he had to dump the ball off to his running back, we just saw it happen. We need to know why the receiver was double covered in the first place, and what the offense will do next.

Tony Romo seems to understand this better than most of his peers. It was just his first regular season game as CBS's lead color commentator, but the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback made his bosses look like geniuses on Sunday.

If this was the worst game Romo ever calls, he's going to be a very, very good analyst.
