Check out this sports editor's tweets as he participates in an FCS two-a-day practice (Western Illinois)

From all indications, John Bohnenkamp (the sports editor for the Hawk Eye in Burlington, Iowa) has the look of your average, every day sports journalist.

But as a dedicated sports editor with an itch to immerse himself in his work in an effort to fully understand the plight of the college student-athlete, Bohnenkamp decided he wanted to get a real taste of college football...at least for a day.

So, after ironing out some logistics with Western Illinois and their staff, Bohnenkamp attempted to turn back the clock (despite his body telling him that may be impossible), put some pads and a red jersey on, and made the decision to try his hand at a two-a-day practice with WIU yesterday.

And hey, if Jared Lorenzen can still sling the ball around, why not give it a try right?

His tweets yesterday detailing the experience are highly entertaining, as these screenshots show. The only thing that could have made this better was if he had live tweeted after every snap / drill, or perhaps throwing a mic on him for a bit.
