Photos: Rolling through the recruiting trail in style

Like many of its ilk, Florida Tech is looking for a way to stand out. The Division II doctoral/research university in Melbourne, Fla., roughly halfway between Miami and Jacksonville off the Atlantic Coast, competes against MAC schools to keep players on its home turf.

The Panthers do so by offering a great education, scenery that is far different than the American Midwest and the chance to play close to home. To take advantage of that home-field advantage, the staff is spending this week touring the state in a stretch Escalade.

The Florida Tech staff will hit Vero Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Naples, Clearwater, Tampa and then circle back to Orlando, sewing up commitments before Signing Day. It's a nice way for the staff to spend time together and to make waves on the recruiting trail. Because, even kids that aren't slated to be Panthers will have their day highlighted by an Escalade limo rolling up on campus to break up their day.
