There exists a category of people in life that simply get it, and Steve Kerr is one of them. He may even be the captain of Team Gets It.
This time around, the FIBA world champion, NBA champion, TNT lead NBA analyst, Phoenix Suns general manager and now NBA champion head coach offered his thoughts on AAU culture and they make all sorts of sense.

The structure, culture and schedule of football prevents the game becoming fully AAU-ified like basketball, though it would be folly to deny that football is more like basketball than it was five years ago and will likely become even more so five years from today.
If nothing else, this drives home like a sledgehammer on a 1/8th inch nail that the time high school coaches spend with their players becomes more important and more necessary by the day.
