Tom Herman has "agreed in principle" to new deal at Houston (new contract)

As the coaching carousel started to heat up over the weekend with openings at Georgia, Rutgers, and Virginia, Tom Herman's name continued to pick up steam.

But Houston athletic director Hunter Yurachek may have made the play of the off season by putting together a package that enticed Herman to stay put in Houston.

At his press conference today, Herman provided an update.

Details of the contract are still being ironed out, but this is a big move for the future of Houston football and the #HTownTakeover.

Houston is sitting at 11-1 in Herman's first season leading the program, with only a slip up against Connecticut in the loss column.

Credit Yurachek for coming up with a contract that kept Herman around to continue to build the program, especially with in the enticing opportunities currently on the market that seemed like they could be a good fit.
