UNLV's new facility will scream LAS VEGAS .... and that is a great thing.
Tony Sanchez is in the process of building a program that will thrive. Las Vegas is thriving, population is soaring, the economy is strong, people are investing in projects all over the city, and Sanchez plans to double down on everything. His vision for his program is to be a destination for college football elite much like Vegas itself is a destination for so many. If Sanchez and his program can secure even just their fair share of the talent within 300 miles, look out.
Having visited with Sanchez in their existing facility just last month, I've seen the plans and the glimmer in his eye. I've seen the future of UNLV football and I'd bet with Sanchez.
This new facility will change the future of this program.
First have a look at how nice this new facility look (planned to open late 2017....yeah, that's how quickly things get built in Vegas these days).

The 73,000-square-foot, two-level complex will be built on campus in the north end of the team's practice area and overlook the Ernie Becker Sr. Football Fields at Bill "Wildcat" Morris Rebel Park. The Fertitta Football Complex will become the day-to-day home of the program and include an academic center, locker rooms, offices, meeting rooms, strength & conditioning center, media room, training table and nutrition bar, athletic training center and player lounge.
"As I've said since the day I was hired here, I am excited about the future of this program and its limitless potential," said second-year head coach Tony Sanchez. "I want to thank the Fertittas for not just this amazing gift but also for everything they do in the community. I also want to thank everyone else who has stepped up with significant and important contributions as they help us turn Rebel Football into a national program."
