Central Michigan's video game schedule release is a retro classic (Tecmo Bowl)

A new era in Central Michigan football is, in part, being unveiled through an all-time classic video game.

On Wednesday morning, Central Michigan officially released the dates for its 2025 slate that kicks off the Matt Drinkall era.

The head coach teamed with the Chips creative department to generate the video that hearkened to the days of the Nintendo football video game famously known for the indomitable Bo Jackson.

CMU's opening tilt will be Thursday, Aug. 28 at Ken Niumatalolo's San Jose State squad followed by road tilts at ACC program Pittsburgh and Big Ten power Michigan in back-to-back weeks.

Drinkall doesn't get to coach his home debut until Week 4 when Wagner, an FCS program that competes in the Northeast Conference, comes calling.

The Chips then close with eight-straight MAC tilts.
