Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss add Texas roots to their personnel department (Marvin Nash)

After losing a key member of their personnel department with Texas high school roots to the Aggies, Lane Kififn and Ole Miss are reloading their personnel department with another former Texas high school coach.

DJ Mann, a former Texas high school head coach and key figure on the Rebels support staff with a background in recruiting as a high school assistant, left Oxford for a position on Mike Elko's staff earlier this off season.

To fill the support staff role, Ole Miss is adding Rice executive director of recruiting and player personnel Marvin Nash as assistant director of player personnel. On3 was among the first to report the news.

Nash brings nearly two decades of experience in The Lone Star State with him to his new role with Kiffin.

Before joining the Owls staff two seasons ago, Nash spent 15 seasons coaching high school football in Texas, where he most recently was the offensive coordinator at San Marcos HS (TX).

As a high school coach, he helped bring state titles to power Denton Guyer in 2012 and 2013 to go along with three state title game appearances and five trips to the state semifinals.

For Kiffin and Ole Miss, he will bring strong relationships in one of college football's most fertile and critical recruiting territories to his new role.
