Update: Deal for NFL Films to feature Bill Belichick and North Carolina on offseason Hard Knocks falls apart (Nfl Films)

Update >> Just days after the initial report, CBS Sports shares that the deal to feature Belichick and UNC has fallen apart and now will not happen.

"NFL Films had discussions with coach Belichick and UNC about appearing on Hard Knocks this off season, but couldn't reach an agreement," a spokesperson for NFL Media shared with CBS Sports March 4th.

Last off season Giants GM Joe Schoen found himself in the crosshairs of widespread criticism during the offseason version of Hard Knocks from NFL Films when he allowed Saquon Barkley - the team's best player and face of the franchise - to walk.

So it should come as no surprise that when NFL Films starting asking around for other teams to sign up for every fan's favorite all-access behind the scenes look at teams there was no one willing to allow cameras to capture their off season roster building process.

According to reports today, NFL Films will be bringing their cameras to the college ranks.

North Carolina and Bill Belichick's will be the team allowing full access behind the scenes for the legendary NFL head coaches first season at the college level.

The Tar Heels hire of Belichick has been one of the top stories of the off season, and now we'll get up-close-and-personal access to the program through the lense of the heralded NFL series.
