Thomas Hammock continues to round out his Northern Illinois staff and his latest addition is coming from the small college ranks.
To bolster his defensive staff, CBS Sports shares today that Hammock is adding Marian College (NAIA - IN) defensive coordinator Justin Robinson as defensive tackles coach.
Robinson, who was the AFCA's NAIA Coordinator of the Year in 2023, also served as assistant head coach for the Knights last fall as the Knights went 8-2 on the year, winning a number of tight one-possession games.
Before joining the longtime NAIA power, Robinson coached the defensive line at the FCS level at UT-Martin.
While with the Skyhawks, he helped lead the program to the Ohio Valley Conference title.
Marian wasn't Robinson's only stop at the college level, as he also previously coached the defensive line at Hanover (D-III - IN) for four seasons and also served as recruiting coordinator.
Robinson also has previous stops as the defensive coordinator at multiple Indiana prep programs including Evansville Central and Heritage Christian and he also coached the defensive line at Bishop Chatard for a season as well.
