Alabama has just initiated the second spring camp under coach Kalen DeBoer, and the Crimson Tide have a new addition to the defensive coaching staff, FootballScoop has learned.
Tevin Madison, a promising young cornerbacks coach, has joined the Alabama staff as a defensive analyst.
Per sources, Madison is assisting the Crimson Tide's secondary.
It's a natural spot for Madison to help out the second-year Alabama staff, considering Madison arrives after spending two seasons as the defensive backs coach at FCS program Illinois State.
An Alabama native whose college playing career includes three years at Texas Tech and a final season at West Alabama, Madison also owns Big 12 coaching experience from his work at Kansas State.
A former pro player for the Indoor Football League's Iowa Barnstormers, Madison also has experience from time on staff coaching the secondary at Southeast Missouri State.
Alabama, which has completed two of its 15 spring practices, is coming off a 9-4 debut season under DeBoer, the former Washington coach who guided the Huskies to an appearance in the 2023 College Football Playoff Championship.
The Crimson Tide open their 2025 season Aug. 30 at Florida State, have a home game a week later against Louisiana Monroe and then host Big Ten program Wisconsin, coached by Luke Fickell, in Week 3.
