Sources: Michigan bringing veteran defensive line coach to bolster defensive staff

David Denham had accepted the defensive tackles job on staff with Tim Albin at Charlotte just prior to the AFCA convention back in January, but is now on the move for a position in the Big Ten.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Denham is heading to Ann Arbor to join the staff at Michigan.

He will serve as assistant defensive line coach, we're told.

The move reunites him with Wolverines defensive line coach Lou Esposito, who he worked alongside at Western Michigan, where Esposito called the defense and Denham worked with the Broncos defensive line.

A veteran defensive line coach, Denham helped develope a number of NFL Draft picks while in Kalamazoo including Marshawn Kneeland and Braden Fiske.

Before joining the on-field ranks of major college football, Denham coached the defensive line and coordinated special teams for two seasons at UIndy (D-II) and also had successful stops at the small college level at Wabash (D-III - IN), Rose Hulman (D-III - IN) and Saint Joseph's College (NAIA - IN).
