Sources: P.J. Fleck bolstering Minnesota special teams staff (Brady Keeran)

On the heels of an eight-win campaign capped by the resounding win against Virginia Tech in the Duke's Mayo Bowl, Minnesota is turning toward the 2025 season with some new staff pieces.

The latest? Sources tell FootballScoop that P.J. Fleck is hiring Brady Keeran into the role of special teams analyst.

A former staff member at SEC program Kentucky, as well as Buffalo and Memphis at the Group of Five level, Keeran had been on staff the past two years at Eastern Kentucky, where under Walt Wells he helped the Colonels reach the 2024 FCS Playoffs.

Keeran, who was promoted to coach tight ends at EKU after initially being hired into the program as a senior analyst, has accepted the Minnesota position, sources told FootballScoop Sunday.

His exit from EKU leaves a vacancy at tight end coach for the Colonels.

The Golden Gophers finished their 2024 season with back-to-back wins against Wisconsin and then in the bowl against Virginia Tech, narrowly missing a three-game streak after falling 26-25 in their home finale against top-five Penn State.

Minnesota opens its 2025 season Aug. 28 at home against Buffalo, a nine-game winner under Pete Lembo in his first season atop the Bulls in 2024.
