A couple summers ago, I had an extremely rare thought: This Power 4 football program actually needs to build a new facility. I had just toured Texas Tech, where their "players' lounge" was a ping pong table in the lobby.
The Red Raiders had beaten me to the thought. The new-and-improved Dustin R. Womble Football Center and South End Zone Building was under construction at that time, and now it's ready for a full view.
And what a view it is.
The ping pong table is still there, but it's now in an actual players lounge that includes a pool table, a full arcade set and -- this is new, at least to me -- a podcast recording studio.
That's just one of many details that Tech has either improved upon or brought to Lubbock. I could list others, but I honestly don't want to spoil it. This video is nearly 10 minutes long, because it takes associate AD Antonio Huffman nearly 10 minutes to lead a tour through this place.
Enjoy.
Welcome inside the best facility in college football.
