Coastal Carolina rolls out free concessions for all fans at home games

Over the past decade or so, college athletic programs have searched far and wide, and invested millions of dollars to find the best ways to make the fan experience better in stadiums on game day.

Other places have tried, few have succeeded, but Coastal Carolina may have cracked the code, folks.

Today, in a deal that would make Jackie Moon of the Flint Tropics blush, the Chanticleers announced that all concessions will be free at home football games this fall.

"Our fans are the heartbeat of Teal Nation, and we're always looking for ways to elevate their game day experience," VP for intercollegiate athletics Chance Miller shared in the school's release.

"With the CCU Kickoff Meal Deal, we're excited to offer free concessions this fall as a way to say thank you for the energy, passion and support they bring to Brooks Stadium every game."

I know what you're thinking - Go ahead and check the date. This has to be a cruel April Fools joke, right? Well, it is not quite April 1st as I write this, and based on the well thought out parameters Coastal Carolina is including in this brilliant move, this certainly seems like the real deal.

Fans that purchase tickets will be able to visit the concession stands and be able to acquire four items per visit from a selection of nachos, hot dogs, popcorn and fountain drinks.

The best part? There's no limit to the number of in-game visits, as long as they scan each trip through the line via Coastal Carolina Athletics app that will be released at a later date.

Alcohol, food from vendors outside of main concessions provider Aramark, as well as speciality food items will still be available for fans to purchase.
