After losing its former executive director to a college general manager role, the Senior Bowl has hired a college general manager to be its next GM.

The Senior Bowl on Wednesday announced former West Virginia general manager and director of scouting Drew Fabianich to take over as its chief executive of game operations and talent identification. Fabianich joined the Mountaineers under Neal Brown in 2023 but was not retained following Rich Rodriguez's return.

Fabianich will come to Mobile with more than four decades of experience in a spectrum of roles across the football world. Prior to becoming one of the first GMs at the college level, Fabianich spent 18 years as a scout for the Dallas Cowboys. He joined the organization in 2003 as a Southeast and Midwest scout, then was promoted to national scout in 2005. During that time, the Cowboys boasted the highest percentage of draft picks to earn Pro Bowl invites.

Prior to scouting, the Colorado native was a coach at the college and high school levels. He started coaching in 1986 as Mesa State's quarterbacks coach, then deposited GA stints at Baylor and Tennessee before becoming UT-Martin's defensive coordinator in 1994. He then spent four seasons as the defensive coordinator at ULM and three at Dallas's WT White High School before joining the Cowboys.
