Few additional pieces coming together on Tony Sanchez's staff at New Mexico State (New Mexico State)

Coming off the best season in school history before Jerry Kill chose to step away from the program after two seasons, the New Mexico State staff is continuing to come into focus under Tony Sanchez.

We shared earlier today that Sanchez has decided to promote Ghaali Muhammad-Lankford to offensive coordinator to fill a key role on the offensive side of the ball.

Sources tell FootballScoop of a few additional moves as well.

With their season now concluded, Texas senior defensive analyst Henry Fernandez is joining the staff and will coach the safeties, sources share.

In the secondary, he will work alongside corners coach Jalen Ortiz, who we shared last week was joining the staff after two seasons coaching the corners at Nevada.

Last week we also shared that Sam Houston State defensive coordinator Joe Morris was set to join the staff where he will work with the defensive line.

Sources add that director of scouting David Cobb is being promoted to an on-field coaching position where he will mentor the running backs.

Tight ends coach / special teams coordinator Tyler Wright is moving to quarterbacks coach / passing game coordinator while offensive line coach Andrew Mitchell as added the assistant head coach / run game coordinator titles. Ronnie Regula, who previously coached the tight ends for Sanchez at UNLV before taking a defensive analyst job at Notre Dame, will coach the tight ends, as we've previously shared.

Also, defensive coordinator Nate Dreiling has added the associate head coach title after spending the last several seasons with the program leading the team's defensive unit and Bobby McMillen will continue to coach the inside linebackers to round out the staff.
