Matt Zenitz tweets that former Coastal Carolina defensive coordinator Chad Staggs is expected to be the new defensive coordinator at Georgia State.
Earlier this month, Staggs was reportedly set to become the linebackers coach at Western Kentucky.
Staggs spent the last few seasons coordinating the defense for the Chanticleers under Jamey Chadwell, who left for the Liberty head coaching position, and his defenses were a big reason why Coastal had gone 31-7 over the last three seasons.
The former Broyles Award semifinalist brings coordinator experience at multiple levels of college football from stops at North Greenville (D-III - SC), Delta State (D-II - MS), Charleston Southern (FCS), and Furman (FCS - SC) before joining the Coastal Carolina staff in 2019.
