After reports of an expected dismissal on Sunday, on the day of the team's season finale, the Jacksonville Jaguars officially let go head coach Doug Marrone go on the morning of Monday, January 4th.
The Jags finished 1-15 this season. Marrone was 23-43 overall with the organization, highlighted by a 10-6 year first full season back in 2017.
The Jags also have an opening at GM after moving on from Dave Caldwell in late November.
The biggest name that has been attached to this one early in the process has been Urban Meyer, who could be drawn to the opportunity to have the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft (where Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is widely expected to be taken), and take over a really enticing situation with 11 draft picks and lots of cap space with the potential to improve the team immediately.
Keep track of all of the new hires as the staff comes together, and see a full run down of how the head coach and GM process played out below.
The Jags announced Urban's whole coaching staff on February 11th. They are:
Passing Game Coordinator / QBs
Offensive Quality Control
Assistant Offensive Line
Assistant HC / Inside Linebackers
Assistant Defensive Line
Defensive Quality Control
Senior Defensive Assistant
Special Teams Coordinator
Special Teams Assistant
Director of Sports Performance
Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
