Parks Frazier joining Frank Reich in Carolina (parks frazier)

One of the surprise stories of the recently completed NFL season was, of course, Jeff Saturday's appointment as the Indianapolis Colts' interim head coach. That story brought about the biggest surprise of 2022: Parks Frazier as the Colts' interim offensive play-caller.

Frazier, 31, had no previous play-calling experience and no primary on-field coaching experience. He was an Arkansas State GA in 2017 who joined the Colts as the assistant to head coach Frank Reich in 2018, then moved to quality control coach in 2020, and then to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021, and finally to interim offensive coordinator for the last half of 2022.

The Saturday experiment is now over in Indianapolis with Shane Steichen's hiring as head coach, which put Frazier on the market.

On Wednesday, the Carolina Panthers announced Frazier as passing game coordinator.

The Panthers' org chart does not currently list an offensive coordinator. Jim Caldwell is in place as a senior assistant, and Josh McCown has been hired as quarterbacks coach. The only other offensive staffer currently listed is Duce Staley as assistant head coach and running backs coach.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
