Sources tell FootballScoop that McDaniel (D-III - MD) head coach Demarcus White has stepped down after leading the team through three fall seasons of competition.
White was promoted to the head coaching role in March of 2019, following three seasons as the team's defensive coordinator.
That first season, he led the program to wins in three of their first four games before ending the season 3-7 overall.
The program didn't play a 2020 season during the COVID pandemic, and went 2-8 in 2021 and 3-7 this past fall.
White leaves the program with a 8-24 overall mark.
Before joining the McDaniel staff, White collected FBS support staff experience working as a defensive backs assistant and in player development at Rutgers in 2015.
Prior to that, White spent six seasons at ASA Brooklyn (JC - NY), where he helped coordinate one of the top JuCo defenses in the country, ranking among the top 15 nationally in a number of key defensive categories.
The website currently lists just two remaining coaches on staff - David Sartin and linebackers coach Davon Johnson.
This change marks the 25th head coaching change at the Division III level of the off season. Keep track of all head coaching movement from small college to the NFL via this page.
