Teamworks makes major move, cements spot in compliance, recruiting landscape (Teamworks)

Earlier this year Teamworks, ubiquitous among collegiate athletics programs throughout the United States, generated industry-wide news when the Durham, N.C., company announced plans to seamlessly integrate compliance components onto the operating platform.

On Wednesday, Teamworks made another major move; Teamworks has acquired ARMS Software, the company formally announced.

In its release touting the acquisition, part of a $65 million “Series E funding” venture, Teamworks noted that ARMS Software is the “leading solution in collegiate athletics for recruiting talent, managing compliance, automating operations and streamlining camps.”

Already working with "more than 6,000 teams worldwide," Teamworks disclosed that it has secured $115m in funding just within the past year and boosted overall funding to $165m, with San Francisco-based Dragoneer Investment Group atop the Teamworks financial drive.

“With the acquisition of ARMS, we bring together the two most trusted tech brands in collegiate sports,” Teamworks founder and CEO Zach Maurides said in the company’s release. “It's a game-changer for those working to transform their operations and deliver an exceptional athlete experience. ARMS' powerful workflow engine will have an impact beyond collegiate, with clear value for professional and military customers.”

While military and professional output could be growth elements for Teamworks in the future with this move, a prominent industry source with significant Power 5 experience running collegiate football operations told FootballScoop that the Teamworks and ARMS unification brings together “the leading compliance/recruiting software in the industry (ARMS)” and integrates it with Teamworks, which “provides everything else.”

“Huge day for the industry.”

Quite simply, this move is going to further streamline systems for directors of football operations and all those who help operate and touch collegiate programs on a day-to-day basis.
