December 31st Update >> The team has now announced that Doug Marrone and GM Dave Caldwell will return in 2020. Adam Schefter and Mark Long were among the first to report it.
According to a report from ESPN, the Jaguars are planning to move on from the Doug Marrone era at the conclusion of the season.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport shares a statement from the Jags that ESPN's report is premature at this point.

As Woodcock points out, the future of the Jags will become more clear after owner Shad Khan meets with the staff during the middle of next week.
Marrone is 5-10 this year, and 21-28 overall heading into the final week of the regular season. They finished 5-11 last season, and was considered on the hot seat heading into 2020. Marrone has led the team since 2016 and his best season came in 2017 when they finished 10-6 after losing to the Patriots in the AFC Championship game.
The Jags will wrap up their season tomorrow when they take on the Colts.
Before taking the reigns in Jacksonville, Marrone had been a head coach in both college and the NFL, leading Syracuse for four seasons to a 25-25 mark, and also as the head coach of the Bills for two seasons where he went 6-10 and then 9-7.
If Marrone is indeed out in Jacksonville, the opening will mark the third opening of the NFL coaching carousel, joining the Panthers and Redskins.
