A number of programs tried to hire Chris Petersen away during his epic run of 92 wins and just 12 losses from 2006-13 with the Boise State program, but when Washington came calling in late 2013 it was too good of a fit to turn down.
For the past six seasons, Petersen has had the unique ability to drive his boat into work and live a life he's dreamed of. He led Washington to the 2016 College Football Playoff in just his third season with the program, and captured two Pac-12 titles while leading the team to bowl appearances every season.
Over the weekend, the Chris Petersen era with the Huskies came to an end in a fitting fashion with a win over his former program - Boise State.
To say both thank you, and farewell, Washington released a touching tribute to coach Petersen covering the special moments from his introductory presser, to the press conference of him handing the reigns of the program to new head coach Jimmy Lake. The video includes cameos from a whole bunch of current and former players on how Petersen's leadership and mentorship affected their lives. Catch it below.
