As the general manager position increases importance before our very eyes -- hello, Stanford -- an equilibrium has emerged on the financial value of the position, at least among the Power 4.

Nebraska on Wednesday released the contract details for its new general manager, Pat Stewart. Via HuskerOnline, Stewart has inked a 3-year deal that will pay him $2.55 million in total. He'll earn $800,000 in 2025, $850,000 in 2026, and $900,000 in '27.

Those numbers are similar to what Oklahoma will pay Jim Nagy, who's working on a 3-year deal starting at $750,000 and topping out at $950,000. USC's Chad Bowden earned north of $1 million annually to leave Notre Dame for USC, sources told FootballScoop, and North Carolina's Michael Lombardi got $1.5 million to jump into college football. Alabama's Courtney Morgan signed a 3-year deal averaging $825,000 last August, and Texas Tech's James Blanchard is believed to be in the same neighborhood after spurning an offer from Notre Dame.

Stewart is also eligible for bonuses similar to coaches, ranging from 5 percent of his salary for reaching a bowl game to 10 percent for winning a national title. His contract, per HuskerOnline, also expressly prohibits Stewart from speaking with boosters unless given written permission from Nebraska's athletics director.

Stewart joined Nebraska after spending two years as the director of pro personnel with the New England Patriots. Stewart worked with head coach Matt Rhule previously at Temple, Western Carolina and the Carolina Panthers.
