Billy Napier is set to lose a third coach to an NFL opportunity in the past two days, according to reports this morning.
Receivers coach Keary Colbert is expected to join the staff of Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos as their new receivers coach, multiple outlets are reporting this morning.
Colbert spent last fall on Napier's staff in Gainesville, and coached the receivers at USC previously, rising from quality control coach, to tight ends and inside receivers before being elevated to wide receivers in 2019.
While with the Trojans, Colbert built an impressive track record of developing NFL receivers like Drake London (Falcons), Amon-Ra St. Brown (Lions) and Michael Pittman Jr. (Colts).
Before getting into coaching, Colbert was a standout receiver at USC who was drafted in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Panthers. In 2008 he spent some time with the Denver Broncos before brief stints as a player with the Seahawks, Lions, and Chiefs.
Yesterday, word broke that Napier was losing defensive coordinator Patrick Toney and tight ends coach William Peagler to the Cardinals.
